This evening in California, same-sex marriages became legal. Del Martin, 87, and Phyllis Lyon, 84 were among those who were married, for the second time, today (their first wedding in San Francisco was deemed illegal, which led to the state Supreme Court decision allowing the marriages to take place). They met in 1950.
Congratulations to all of the newlyweds!! I hope the rest of the country soon wakes up and follows in the footsteps of Massachusetts and California. Why deny anyone this right?
