Tesla

Tesla Motors is working on their electric car. They claim it's 100% electric, goes 0-60 in 3.9 seconds, and gets 244 miles per charge. Plus, it's pretty. I'm intrigued, and I want one. Too bad the base price is $109,000. Maybe if I start saving now.....

  1. How much does it typically cost to charge this pretty baby?

  2. It's a 3.5 hour charge from an outlet they put in your garage. So, nothing more than the cost of your electric bill.

I've heard that VW is coming out with a plug-in for the US in 2010, though, so I'll have to end up going more that route... since I don't happen to have $109K sitting under my mattress :-)

  3. I've been following Tesla for a couple of months now. Definitely an innovative idea. When was the last time the US saw the success of a start-up automotive company? Tesla definitely has promise ... but the current state of the economy has taken it's toll.
