Sunday Sketches: Inside Joke

Here is my contribution to this week's Sunday Sketches.

It's from the October 1922 cover of Woman's Home Companion. I'm not loving how "hard" her facial features look especially compared to the original. I've been practicing faces, though. I think I just should have put her eyes a little lower. Also, I'm almost done with last week's sketch, and I'll link to that once its posted.

  1. You did a lovely job, not only do you practice faces here, but hands and I find them so hard to portray well.

  2. I think you did a great job. She looks like she came from the same era as the girl in the sketch I did this week. :)

Faces are hard and hands and feet. I have a very hard time sketching anything without graphing first. Not fun to do and time consuming but my proportions would be all wacky if I didn't. Even when I do they still are sometimes. lol.
