Sunday Sketches: Baby Mine

I'm back! I made sure to set aside a little time this morning to sketch something. My scanner's not working, so I just took a picture of this, and I promise the little elephant doesn't look quite as bruised as he appears in this image :)

I'm definitely loving elephants for the nursery, and think the lullaby from Dumbo is just about the sweetest baby song ever.

Sweet Saturdays: Wink the Owl

This week I bought a little doll for baby. I don't know yet if it's a boy or girl, but I don't think it really matters. I found a very cool site called blabla that sells dolls, rattles, clothes, and more knitted by Peruvian artisans. Go check it out. It's pretty hip.

So, I looked through all the dolls and picked my favorite, an owl-ish fellow named Wink.

Well, at least I would have loved to have a little Wink of my own!

Sweet Saturdays: Hi, baby!

I've been awol for a few weeks, because it turns out that growing another human being is tiring work.

Oh right. If you didn't read my little story here, surprise! I'm now 15 weeks, 4 days along with this little fetus.

So, my Sweet Saturday post is a darling little snapshot of the kid at 12w3d. Just look at that adorable nose!

And now, for a list. Things I've learned in the last 3 months:

• My boobs grow REALLY fast.
• Morning sickness does NOT affect all women (PHEW!)
• People love touching pregnant bellies.
• It actually doesn't bother me at all.
• Alcohol wasn't NEARLY as hard to give up as I had imagined.
• Naps are unavoidable.
• Maternity clothes are EXPENSIVE.
• But that didn't stop my from buying basically the cutest pregnant belly swimsuit I've ever seen.
• Just about ANYTHING can be "for the baby" if I want it to be :)
• People make a lot of assumptions about YOUR pregnancy.
• And they will give you all the advice you NEVER wanted.
• Even if they haven't had a baby since 1976.
• It's hard to bend over sometimes.

I love this little one!

Hello, May 13th. How did you get here?

Lots of things are happening, that's for sure! The school year is ALMOST over. Phew, I thought I might not make it!

I'm teaching two online classes right now, so that's also keeping me really busy.

Oh! But want to know something fun? A long while back, I submitted my handwriting to this website at www.kevinandamanda.com. She takes submissions and if she likes yours enough, she turns it into a font and offers it for free on her site! How fun is that, right?

Well, turns out she liked my handwriting, and now I have an official font! WhOOt!! It's called Pea Ramona, and you can get it all for yourself right here.
